This May there will be a ‘special’ sustainable fashion show at RHS Garden Bridgewater in Worsley.

The sustainable fashion show on Friday May 17 aims to celebrate independent northern creatives who strive to “champion better fashion habits.”

The exhibition in the historic Pottings Sheds will stage work by BA Fashion and Promotion students from the University of Salford.

The students have been working with some of the gardeners at Bridgewater to explore how they stamp their own personal style on their work uniforms.

The project is brought to life with photographs and video and students will be on hand to chat to visitors about the project.

The evening will culminate in a catwalk show with a difference brought to you by Manchester Fashion Movement.

Richard Green, Head of RHS Garden Bridgewater commented: “We’re delighted to be collaborating with Manchester Fashion Movement and the University
of Salford on this unique event. Being able to work with different creative groups in Greater Manchester and offer audiences something new is really exciting.

With nature and sustainability at the heart of what we do, having this event take place here in the garden is the perfect celebration of horticulture and fashion.”

There will be food and drink on offer from 6pm at the Shepherds Hut and the Stables Cafe and after the fashion show, the DJ will continue playing tunes until the evening comes to a close at 9pm.

Alison Carlin, Creative Director MFM commented: “We’ve always wanted to curate a fashion show in a green space full of brightly coloured flowers and elaborate gardens and what better place than RHS Bridgewater.

“To be given the opportunity to promote awareness and instil a love for sustainable fashion and horticulture is a real honour.”

Tickets should be booked online here.
