A man has sadly died after he was found on a railway track at the Salford Central railway station.
Police officers were called out to Salford Central yesterday morning (April 8).
British Transport Police has confirmed it was called out to reports of a casualty on the tracks at around 11.52am.
Passengers were told to make alternative arrangements while police attended the scene.
Tragically, officers found the man and he was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is not believed to be suspicious.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Salford Central railway station at around 11.52am yesterday (7 April) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
