A man has faced a ‘terrifying’ fake acid attack in Walkden after a liquid was thrown at him.
The non-corrosive liquid was thrown at the man in his 50s on Wednesday (March 13) on Portland Road, Walkden.
At the time the victim was unaware that the substance was not harmful.
Subsequent tests were done by the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue on the liquid, which came back negative for acid and ammonia.
Inspector Matt Christian of GMP’s Salford District, said: “This must have been a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who at the time was unaware that the substance was not harmful.
“Officers responded quickly to this incident and anyone with any information should contact police through gmp.police.uk, quoting incident number 2275 of 13/3/24.
“Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
