Monton Unitarian Church has revealed plans to build a new community centre after the demolition of Boddan Lodge.
The Church has launched a buy-a-brick campaign at £1 a brick to fundraise for the development.
Boddan Lodge, which was home to the Over 60s Club, was demolished after it was declared unsafe.
Monton Unitarian Church hopes to replace it with a new, multi-purpose, eco-friendly community building.
The plan also includes redesigning the bowling green land to provide a base for the Over 60s Club and many other community groups.
A working group has been established, and a consultation process will be launched soon.
The church is keen to work with and incorporate ideas from the local community.
Anyone with ideas or skills to offer, is invited to get in touch via Rev. Anna Jarvis.
The Reverend Jarvis said: “We are very much looking forward to working with members of the Over 60s Club and many others from the wider Monton community on the designs for the new building to make it as inclusive and versatile as possible.
“We know the process of rebuilding will take a long time, but we do hope that the whole community of Monton will work with us as we find out what is needed and wanted, and bring the vision into reality as quickly as possible.”
