Salford City FC displayed a stronger performance in February, only losing one game and continuing an unbeaten run of games with two victorious performances against Wrexham and Barrow.

They drew against three other clubs but saw a painstaking loss against top-of-the-table Mansfield Town.

The month kicked off with a 3-1 win for Salford City after they took the lead early on in the game. With a goal from defender Theo Vassell in the sixth minute, the Ammies were destined to win the match.

Wrexham, who are now third in the league, were slacking when shooting, with only one shot on target in the second half.

Matt Smith had secured the win for the team with a goal in the 56th minute that put the score at 3-1.

Forward, Callum Hendry scored his first goal of the month in an insane added-time equaliser against Swindon Town.

His goal in the 92nd minute securing a point for the Ammies, after being dominated by the attacking home team.

The star boy would then go on to score twice in a thrilling game against Barrow AFC.

In another interesting game, Salford City and Doncaster Rovers played a nail-biting match where both sides battled it out until the final whistle.

After both sides scored an own goal in the first half, they came back with a vengeance.

Doncaster Rovers were all over the Ammies, scoring their second goal in the 71st minute.

However, after a shocking second half, Salford clinched a last minute equaliser, making the score 2-2.

Barrow AFC, who had a brilliant start to the season, were tough opponents for Salford City with an intense game.

The side pushing for playoffs, pegged back the home side with a goal either side of half time.

But the resilience of the Ammies, led by Matt Smith, proved too much for Barrow, resulting in an impressive win for Salford.

With 3,416 in the crowd it was a packed-out stadium that wildly celebrated Salford’s top scorer’s goals.

Salford City v Mansfield Town

Table Toppers Mansfield Town cruised past Salford City in a game that saw the home side win 5-1.

The Ammies managed to dominate possession throughout the game but proved insufficient in shots, with Mansfield shooting a whopping 29 times compared to Salford’s 14.

They managed to equalise just before half time, through winger Junior Luamba, but the home side’s quality proved too much for Salford City.

The game also saw a red card for Theo Vassell over a debatable and soft foul, towards the end of the game.

This game brought the Ammies nine unbeaten run of games to an end.

Risking the relegation zone, the game against Colchester was controlled and uneventful.

Matt Smith managed to score a goal right at the end of the first half securing the title of top scorer for the club.

Being 22nd on the table, Colchester were desperate to get a point with 16 shots taken and one scored.

The game ended 1-1, with the Ammies receiving a point they desperately needed after the 5-1 defeat the week before.
