In Salford you can now sip coffee and relax in a “pug playground” at the unique CuppaPug cafe opening this week.
The first pug cafe, CuppaPug, is set to open on Chapel St this Friday (March 1).
Customers are invited to spend time with CupaPugs’ resident pugs while dining out on on pug-themed smoothies, milkshakes, coffees, teas and cakes.
The cafe has been described as a hospitality experience “like no other” and has now been booked out for weeks with customers eager to try out the concept.
Partners Aaron Carty and Matt Pieterse founded the original CuppaPug in London in 2022, the cafe was an immediate hit.
Matt said: “CuppaPug’s vision is to firstly amplify the education of owning a dog, the responsibility and commitment it takes, continuing to share our pugs with people to bring them joy, help with mind wellness and mental health and rescue pugs.

“Manchester has an amazing pug community as well as its own non-profit organisation ‘Manchester Pug Thing’ that we wanted to help, not only with regular donations but to amplify the organisation and the work they do.”
CuppaPug assured that their pugs are provided with a “safe and comfortable environment where they can thrive and enjoy their time.” They also claimed that the cafe is designed to meet their specific needs, including appropriate spaces for resting, playing, and socialising.
The company also stated that they have “dedicated staff members” who are trained to handle and care for the pugs in a gentle and responsible manner.
CuppaPug is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays: 11am-7pm Sundays: 11am – 6pm. To visit the cafe and play with the pugs, customers are required to book a slot in advance.
