Salford’s iconic Sounds From The Other City festival is retuning for its annual celebration party this May.
The festival, which has been going since 2005, aims to “champion local promoters” and celebrate Salford on a bank holiday Sunday May 5.
The festival will be hosted at the University of Salford and will feature performances at the historic Peel Hall, Maxwell Hall and Salford Museum & Art Gallery, with a central outside stage on The Green.
There will also be performances in the Old Fire Station Cafe and the Working Class Movement Library.
Since its reinstatement to the festival site last year, various spots in the Islington Mill will be used for the festival. This includes the Mirage Bar, Partisan Club and the “long-missed” Courtyard which will be open too.
Finally, “Sounds wouldn’t be Sounds without a Bexley Square party” so there will be a stage in the square, upstairs at Porta and at the back room of The New Oxford.
The Fvck Pigs have been chosen as the festival’s 2024 art directors however the actual line-up has yet to be announced.
