A Salford artist is showcasing work inspired by the city in the latest exhibition at Langworthy Cornerstone.

Chelsea Davies is well known as Salford Precinct’s first artist-in-residence and her work is largely based on capturing Salford in multimedia artworks.

The exhibition is open from Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm and there has already been a lot of interest in the art.

Centre co-ordinator Karen Dyson said: “Chelsea has already taken many pieces down as there were so many sold on opening night. There was a lot of positive feedback.”

The art is available for anyone to buy with prices ranging from £80 to £200.

Salford City Councillor Hannah Robinson Smith was present at the opening and calls herself a  supporter of Chelsea’s work.

Langworthy Cornerstone hosts a ‘rotating gallery’ of fresh artwork at the centre, mainly from local artists.

Inbetween the Art of Salford group exhibitions, local artists can sign up to show their art for a period and it is currently free.

Ms Dyson said: “We can encourage them. If you look at the walls it’s far better to have some art on than blank walls!”

Chelsea’s art is on show at Langworthy Cornerstone until Sunday March 4.
