Police have released CCTV footage following the serious sexual assault of a teenage girl in the Broughton area of Salford.
Detectives believe the incident occurred in an alleyway between Howe Street and Back Howe Street on Sunday December 3.
The sexual assault happened after the victim was approached by a man as she turned into the alleyway.
Detectives believe a man ran away from the scene towards Great Clowes Street and enquiries remain ongoing to trace him.
Officers are now at a point in their investigation where they are able to release CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to as he may be able to assist with enquiries.
Detective Constable Harmer, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “We do not underestimate the concern this will have caused in the local community. Since the report was made to us, officers have been working hard to piece together a timeline of events leading up to the incident and are now in the position to release CCTV footage of a man we wish to speak to.
“Our investigation remains ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information or footage that could assist our enquiries then please get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.
“Any information, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could prove vital to our investigation.”
