Yesterday afternoon (January 11) Sir Keir Starmer was presented with a gift by the MEN so that he shall “never, ever forget the north.”
The politician spoke to a room of students, in a Q&A session while visiting the Manchester Evening News offices in Oldham.
Towards the end of his talk, he was given a t-shirt (which Salford Lads Club created) with ‘The North’ printed on it to remind him to again, “never, ever forget the north.”
Sir Keir Starmer appeared to be impressed with the gift saying: “I got it, I got it, that’s fantastic!”
“Looks good doesn’t it? Thank you so much.”
Salford lads Club have since posted on their Facebook: “Thanks to the Manchester Evening News for supporting our ‘North’ t-shirt fundraiser – gifting one to a recent visitor from the south!”
