Joe Burgess has broken his silence on his exit that was announced in a statement yesterday (January 9) by Salford Red Devils.
After weeks of speculation, the club announced that the 29-year-old’s “conduct was not consistent with such expectations” and that he would be leaving the club with “immediate effect”.
The details regarding the Winger’s conduct have not yet been disclosed.
Joe took to X (Twitter) yesterday to announce he was “saddened” by the stance the club has taken.
His tweet reads: “Due to the fact that what has occurred will be the subject of an appeal, both to the club, and if necessary the league’s independent tribunal, I propose to say very little else at this stage.
“Just want to say a quick thank you to the lads, staff and the fans for a very enjoyable three years, ATVB (all the very best).”
I am obviously saddened on the stance taken by the Club. Due to the fact that what has occurred will be the subject of an Appeal, both to the Club, and if necessary the Leagues’ Independent Tribunal, I propose to say very little else at this stage.
