The Coffee Rules secret corner café is to die for! Like its name, the bold exterior on Fredrick Road is a perfect site for brunch dates with friends.
On a cold, tiring and long day my sister and I were looking for a place to relax, when we found the warm-lit and very newly opened café.
We headed over and were greeted by a friendly server behind the bar, who handed us a menu with all the special treats and drinks to enjoy.
She even recommended their special Freddo Espresso coffee for £4.80, which piqued my interest luckily. We also chose the classic Spinach and Feta cheese pie for £4.20, hot chocolate for £4.00 and a mouth-watering, off the menu chocolate cake for £5.
We seated ourselves on a two-seat table in the corner and the atmosphere was relaxing compared to the outdoor traffic noise and the distinct scents from the other side of the world hit your nose instantly.
Whilst we waited for our hot drinks to be made, we enjoyed the beautiful and aesthetically pleasing interior and browsed the internet to see if others knew of our great find.
To our surprise the place had newly been opened in Salford but had other branches around Manchester and was a successful Greek family business.
The owner, Thomas Kasaras, started Coffee Rules in hopes that Salfordian’s would love his “Greek and slight Italian style” coffee, breakfast and desserts.
When our hot espresso and hot chocolate made it to the table the smell was divine.
Alongside the espresso, the chocolate ganache cake tasted amazing.
The cake melted in my mouth and had an almost sickening sweetness, perfect for a sweet tooth like me.
By the time I was halfway through my slice of cake, Kasaras walked in and told us how busy this place gets busy during lunchtime and how he loves seeing all sorts of customers coming in to enjoy his recipes.
Upon speaking to him he confirmed the importance of this café for him.
Kasaras said: “You should give it a try and if you do I guarantee that you will come back again.”
Even though the place is in a secluded area behind Salford University, the five-star hygiene café stands out and is certainly a perfect spot to enjoy yourself with your family, friends and partner.
