Newly announced head coach Mike Grady is preparing for the women’s Salford Red Devils upcoming season.
He is excited to get going in his new role and has set ambitions of achieving promotion back to the Betfred Women’s Super League.
Mike Grady said: “Proud. Looking forward to it. Excited and just can’t wait to get going.”
“The women’s game is massive at the moment, it’s being pushed really well, the coverage of it and I just can’t wait to get stuck into it.”
Grady is already vastly experienced at both club and international level. Most recently, he joined John Kear for a stint at Widnes Vikings, alongside becoming Head Coach of the Spanish National Team.
He will be holding trials tonight ( November 27) and Wednesday ( November 29) at Salford stadium to recruit fresh talent.

Our women’s side will be playing in the 2024 Championship next season – do you have what it takes to be a part of the push to return to Super League?
Trial dates:
– 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿
– 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿— Salford Red Devils 👹 (@SalfordDevils) November 26, 2023
“First of all, we’re going to have a trial and see who’s out there and who can come in,” Grady added.
“And just like any team, we’re going to get stuck into pre-season, work hard and we’ll set our goals to rip into the season in the best way we can.”
Their debut season in the Women’s Super League was relatively successful with them achieving a play off spot.
However, due to a restructure of the competition they will be competing in a lower division next year.
Grady said: “We’re in it to win it.
“We’re going to push ourselves, we’re going to go for it and the aim is to go up, so we’ll be working hard in pre-season towards achieving that throughout the year.”
Another objective of his new role is to put a pathway in place for young girls to become the next stars of Salford Red Devils.
