Salford residents have recently been asked how the bus service from Salford Crescent and MediaCityUK can be improved.
The two locations are described as “Salford’s biggest hubs for media and technology, learning and employment.” This is why Salford City Council believe there is a “strong requirement” for a high-quality and reliable public transport service connecting the two.

However since the council launched the survey, Salford residents have expressed on Facebook that they feel other bus services in Salford have been “forgotten.”
One resident commented: “Buses that are reliable on any route would be good and better buses with more seats for elderly, you have taken away too many seats downstairs.”
Another resident added: “Not everything needs to be focused on MediaCityUK and the Salchester border, Salford has many other areas crying out for bus links. I suspect this is once more orientated towards the students and those who live in the nice swanky apartment blocks.”
A few residents also mentioned on Facebook that there is a need for more buses in the Lower and Higher Broughton areas.
One resident commented: “I don’t get buses but the old 137 from Lower Broughton to Higher Broughton needs to come back, helped a lot of people.”
Most residents although did seem to agree on Facebook that improvements to the bus service from Salford Crescent to MediaCity are needed.
Another resident commented: “Yes! MediaCity and the Trafford Centre! We also need later buses home from town to help those who work late into the night.”
