A Salford police officer has been dismissed for forging a GP note for additional leave.
An accelerated misconduct hearing on Thursday October 26 found female officer Chloe Vose’s actions to be gross misconduct.
Evidence showed the officer went off sick for work in January 2023 and had the relevant note valid for three days. Three days after she stated she was unwell and would not be returning to work, she created a fraudulent letter supposedly from her GP to extend her leave of absence.
Throughout that month she provided emails, screenshots and statements that were dishonest before returning to work at the end of the month. A return-to-work interview was then conducted and the officer firmly denied the allegations after being challenged by supervisors.
GMP Chief Constable, Stephen Watson, said: “She has shown no remorse and tried to lay the blame at the door of the force, blaming others for being unsupportive of her needs.
“As a result, her actions do amount to gross misconduct and have been proven which will undermine public confidence in the police.”
The Salford officer denied her behaviour amounted to gross misconduct and breached the standards of professional behaviour in writing to the allegations alongside honesty, integrity and discreditable conduct.
