16:14 – Delays to take place on the M61 following a crash
Long queues have built up on southbound lanes of the M61 after a crash this afternoon between junctions one and two.
Delays of up to half an hour are expected with backlogs up to Junction four.
The southbound entry slip road at junction 2 remains closed and is expected to be so for hours to come.
The crash happened around 1pm earlier today.

15:09 – Salford charity appeals for ball assistants for the Ammies
Local charity Foundation 92 are appealing to encourage grass roots football clubs to help the Salford City Fc on matchdays as ball boys.
The Foundation aims to encourage as many teams as possible to get involved in the club.
With Damon Traverse, head of media at Foundation 92 adding: “It gives them an idea of what they can become, and they can also see the football first hand.
“It’s a really good opportunity, and it’s open to them to have a go at it.”

14:30 – Salford Council announce details of Remembrance weekend services
Salford City Council have announced their list of services for Sunday 12th November.
The city will host a series of marches across the city this year, with parades and services taking place in six different locations.
They will take place, marching to cenotaphs ahead of services at the memorials with the assistance of the Royal British Legion.

14:06 – Swinton Lions add exciting new forward and half back to help strengthen side for 2024
Swinton Lions have signed two excited new players to help boost the side for the new season.
One of their latest signings was Daniel Spencer-Tonks, with the hope of re-igniting his career in the Championship.
He will join the additional arrival of Super League half-back Declan Patton early in the week, with both previously playing for Salford Red Devils.
With this Super League experience joining the side, Lions fans can be excited for the future.

13:19 – Salford author released new book on raising kids with ADHD
A Salford-based author and mother is set to launch her fourth book tonight online about the struggles of parenting a child with ADHD.
Fiona Myles, 58, from Clifton, wrote the book titled ‘Georgie, Me and ADHD: Amongst Other Things’ based on her experiences of being a mother to her adopted daughter, Georgie, who has ADHD.
The author wrote the book with the intention of helping parents realise they are not alone, adding: “They’re not a bad parent, their child has special needs and they need to go with their child within those needs.”
This ultimately inspired her to write her own book from her perspective, with the book being launched tonight it can be found on her website or Amazon.

12:55 – Road Closures expected to cause disruption on Mosley Common Road
Salford City Council have announced the closure of Mosley Common Road at the junction with the A580.
The road heading towards Worsley (South) will be shut today between 9:30am and 3:30pm, as it was yesterday with traffic expected to be slower in the area.
And the route heading towards Tyldesley (North) will be closed on both the 25th and the 26th October at the same time as the day before, 9:30am to 3:30pm.
12:26 – Salford expected to avoid the effects of Storm Babet
Salford will seem to avoid the effects of Storm Babet with the MET Office pushing yellow weather warnings to Yorkshire, East Midlands and the South of England.
However, locals should be expecting rain throughout the day, however should lighten with the MET Office reporting rainfall till 5pm.
With cloud coverage seeming to reduce throughout the day that will make it seem colder in the evening.
Day temperatures will look at a maximum of 12 degrees, with nightfall conditions expected to be as low as five degrees.
11:58 – Salford City travel to Doncaster in important league clash
Salford City will travel to the Eco-Power Stadium tonight, where they will play Doncaster Rovers in the hopes of returning to winning ways.
The Ammies were able to get three consecutive league victories, improving on their disappointing September form.
But with a defeat to Wrexham and a draw to Swindon Town, the Ammies will have a difficult test against at a Doncaster side that have won back to back games.
With the Rovers scoring six in the last two games, Neil Wood’s side could be preparing for a very challenging Tuesday night.
