Salford City midfielder Elliot Watt spoke to the media ahead of Salford City’s upcoming away day to newly-promoted Wrexham.
Salford have found their stride in recent weeks, winning three of their last four games, after a series of losses in the initial stages of the season.
Despite the tough spell, the Scotsman insisted that boss Neil Wood told the squad to: “Keep doing what they’re doing but better essentially.”
With a tough test away at fellow promotion chasers Wrexham, Salford will be looking to build on their recent form and get back with the chasing pack.
The midfielder said: “Sometimes you don’t get luck at the start of the season, but it can be turned around, the best example is Stockport, we are above them, now they’ve won I think it’s six on the bounce and they’re second or third.” A fourth league win on the bounce in North Wales would see Neil Wood’s side just one point behind their opponents.
Injuries have really hampered the start of the season with Watt being among the absentees himself for a lengthy period of time, with a burst appendix.
“The physio board was full up with injuries, McLennan was out, McAleny was out so was Luke Garbutt and [Liam] Shephard. Now we’re starting to get a full squad back we feel like we can really begin to attack it.”

The goals finally flowed and two more for Matt Smith in the Ammies’ 4-2 win against Crewe last weekend made it seven for the season so far and putting him among the top scorers in League Two.
With Wrexham shipping 23 goals so far this campaign, the joint worst out of teams in the top half, Salford and Matt Smith will be hoping the goals continue to come.
Coming into the game off the back of a convincing 3-0 victory away at Crewe Alexandra with goals from Jordan Tunnicliffe, Jordan Davies and a penalty from Luke Young make the Welsh side a challenge for the in-form Ammies but one Watt and his teammates will be confident they can overcome.
