Salford City look to continue their winning ways, against League Two rivals Crawley Town this weekend.
The Ammies will be in good spirits this weekend after beating Preston N.E. on penalties to advance into the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Salford will be hoping to make it three wins from three, and a strong start will be necessary to be hopeful of securing automatic promotion.
The Ammies are coming up against a Red Devils side that narrowly avoided being relegated from League Two last season, finishing 22nd.
Despite the low finish last season, they shouldn’t be taken lightly as they were able to start the season with a win getting a 1-0 victory over ten men Bradford City the previous weekend.
Neil Wood would be aiming to avoid a repeat of last season, with the Ammies only taking one point from a possible six.
It will be the first home game since the 1-0 victory over Stockport County in the first leg of the playoffs, but with the strong start, it seems that the Ammies have brushed off the cobwebs of last season.
And with the confidence of beating a Championship side, there will be high expectations from the returning home support this weekend.
Salford supporters could expect to see Connor McLennan amongst the line-up after scoring twice in the week.
But with goals from Matt Smith and Connor McAleny against Forest Green, there will certainly be competition for places amongst an already high-scoring side.
