Salford City are looking to maintain winning form on the road with a challenging game against Championship side Preston North End.
The Ammies will be looking to book their place in the second round of the Carabao Cup, for the second time in the club’s history.
With Salford first advancing in the 2020/21 season, winning 4-2 on penalties against Rotherham.
And Neil Wood will be looking to improve on last season’s opening round, with his side losing 5-1 to Bolton Wanderers.

Although they come up against a Preston N.E. side looking to advance to the second round for the sixth consecutive time.
But following a positive 2-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers, with goals from Connor McAleny and Matt Smith, the Ammies will be looking to carry this form to the Deepdale Stadium.
However, this game may be on the back of Neil Wood’s mind with his focus being directed to the next home game against Crawley Town.
With Salford once again aiming to get promoted to League One next season, as they might look to prioritise one domestic competition.
Nonetheless, this will be a chance for Neil Wood to see how much his side has improved since and a great opportunity for the new signings to get more valuable minutes.
The clubs have only ever met once previously in a preseason friendly in 2020, with Preston N.E winning 3-1 at the Peninsula Stadium.
Tickets will be available at the Deepdale Stadium ahead of kick off.
