A public appeal has been launched after reports of an assault in a Salford park.

At around 10am on Tuesday (11 July), a woman was reportedly assaulted by a man whilst on a walk in Blackleach Country Park. Following the incident, the man ran off towards Linnyshaw Garden Centre.

The man was described as white, with blond hair, a red jacket and black pants, walking an Alsatian dog.

Officers are currently investigating and are providing support to the woman involved.

Inspector Steve Corless, for GMP’s Salford district, said: “Our officers are currently investigating the full circumstances of this incident and we want to reassure the community that we are determined to bring about a positive result.

“I would please ask anyone who was in the park at that time and may have seen something to please get in touch.”
