Local artists and creators have opened the doors of the newly refurbished Islington Mill for an exclusive market.
After the success of the Christmas market, the organisers decided to host a summer event with no entry fee giving Salford residents the chance to have explore the diverse range of art that the mill has to offer.
The event featured a variety of different markets ranging from jewellery, rugs, carpets, candles, cushions, illustrations, and much more.
Lee Smith, one of the joint organisers of the event spoke about how important it is for people to be able to see artwork and creations from local talent in person rather than just on social media. He said: “You’ve got a lot of value in social media but not everybody follows everyone else.
“Sometimes it’s difficult to keep up with social media so I think getting together people can see a lot of things here are tactile and a lot of things you need to see the person behind it.”
The event also gave attendees the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of food and drink while they were exploring different markets at the event’s own Mirage Bar.
