The Bishop of Salford will celebrate his 40th anniversary of priesthood in an upcoming mass.
Bishop John Arnold will celebrate the occasion on Sunday 16 July at 3pm at Salford Cathedral in what will be the final Mass in the Cathedral before services will move to a temporary Church for restoration.
Bishop John was ordained into Priesthood on 16 July 1983, after studying Law at Oxford University and completing both a licence and a doctorate in Canon Law.
He was ordained Bishop on February 2 2006 and appointed as an Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Westminster, before being appointed as the Bishop of Salford on Tuesday 30 September 2014 by Pope Francis.
His installation at Salford Cathedral took place on Monday 8 December 2014.
Bishop John is a member of the Bishops’ Conference Department for International Affairs; Chair of CAFOD’s Board of Trustees and a Trustee of Caritas Social Action Network.
