Salford City have announced the signing of left-back Luke Garbutt on a two-year deal.
Garbutt, who had spent the last three years at Blackpool, has experience winning promotion, having played his part in his former side’s League One playoff victory in 2021/22, as well as a League Two Play-off final appearance with Cheltenham Town.
The thirty year old becomes Salford’s second Summer signing following a string of contract renewals and the return of Alex Cairns on a permanent basis.

Garbutt told the club’s website:
“The drive and will from the Club to want me to come and be a big part of what will hopefully be a successful season for us appealed to me.
“The Club is on the up and I’m excited to be involved in it.”
The full-back, who will look to replace the recently-departed Ibou Touray, has spent the last two seasons playing in the Championship, amassing 25 appearances over the last two seasons whilst at Bloomfield Road.
He also holds Premier League and Europa League experience during his time at Everton.
The two year deal signed by Luke Garbutt sees his contract in line with the recent renewals of Ryan Watson, Conor McAleny and Liam Shephard.
The deal is subject to FA and EFL ratifications.
