Conor McAleny has joined Ryan Watson in signing a new two year deal, keeping him at Salford until June 2025.
McAleny becomes the third player from last season to recommit his future to the Ammies, with Alex Cairns making his previous loan spell a permanent one and the aforementioned Watson signing a new contract.
The thirty year old enjoyed a successful personal season at Moor Lane in 2022/23, scoring 11 goals in 34 appearances.
McAleny, who has been at the club since 2021, said:
“I’m actually delighted to have two more years at the Club with a great group of lads, the staff are brilliant and the fans have been brilliant with me.”

McAleny enjoyed a rich vein of form in January of last season, scoring six goals and winning the SkyBet League Two player of the month award and said that he “loved playing last season.”
“You could tell from the first week in pre-season how the Gaffer was going to do things football-wise, and yeah I loved it. The style of play, the way the lads are.”
Having signed his new deal, the former Oldham Athletic forward reflected on last season’s bitter loss to Stockport as well as the season ahead:
“The feeling after that Stockport game was not a feeling we want again, so I think we’re going to have a group of lads in there now ready to make amends and make up for it.
“The league is definitely going to be an improvement from last year with the quality of teams coming up and coming down. We came really close last season and we want to be going one better this season.”
