The Hive Community Hub has had a dose of sunshine treatment in a paint job which has seen the building’s exterior transformed.

The once sky-blue wellbeing hub, located in Swinton’s Victoria Park, has seen a lick of brilliant yellow paint in a revamp project which has seen more than 12 days of work.

A pillar for the community providing wellbeing, emotional, educational and employability support for vulnerable people, the hub’s creative move comes after a £30,000 locally-funded refurbishment in January 2023.

The funding has also seen the centre fitted with central heating, insulation, new windows and a kitchen.

The yellow paint is one step in the process of redesigning the exterior of the building, with budding artists being called upon to complete the project which plans to feature red poppies.

In a statement after the reopening of The Hive in January, Salford City Mayor Paul Dennett said: “The much-needed transformation of the Hive Community Centre is fantastic. I’m absolutely delighted to see it open, meet the people who use the centre and hear about the wide range of positive differences it makes to their lives. It is now a building fit for the excellent services it provides and set for a positive future.
