The family of a disabled man who died suddenly are raising funds for a bench in his honour, in Eccles.
Andrew Greenall, 56, died last month at Manchester Royal Infirmary after suffering with pancreatitis
Greenall, was born in Eccles in 1967, and lived with brain damage caused by his skull closing too soon after birth due to a lack of technology and medical research at the time.
His sister, Tracie said: “He was caring, funny and was always smiling. Everyone he met, he left a smile on their faces, everyone who met Andrew loved him straight away.
“He had a funny personality and loved to wind people up. He was well known throughout the entire Mencap society with his other autistic brother John, they went everywhere together; holidays, youth club and even work as they both worked at the garden centre Princes Park in Irlam.”
Andrew’s sister, Tracie is currently raising money on GoFundMe to get a granite bench and a plaque to place in the cemetery, where Andrew sat when visiting his late mother, father and sister.
Andrew was a well-known and well-liked resident of his hometown of Eccles, and his community voiced their sadness at his untimely death on his sister, Tracie’s Facebook page.
“I’m so sorry to hear this Tracie and all my heart goes out to you and your family. Sending loves and hugs to you all especially John. Andrew was a lovely gentleman and I had some great memories with him and John.” user, Angela Richardson shared.
Another Facebook user, Nik Janzen said: “So sorry to hear Andrew grew his wings. God must of needed an angel, sending love and hugs to you and your family Tracie.”
