Community grant opportunity for Salford’s volunteer organisations

A session running through a new community grant available for Salford’s volunteer groups has been organised.

Planned for Wednesday (19 April), the ‘Meet the Funder’ session, set up by Salford CVS, examines the criteria needed for groups to receive funding from the new Co-op Local Community Fund.

The year-long ‘partnership’ sees three community projects in the area receive support for each co-op branded product that members purchase in-store.

For each product purchased, the shop raises the profile of the organisation in the community, encouraging locals to support their cause.

Groups must work towards one of the following criteria to be considered: helping people access food, improve mental wellbeing, create opportunities for young people, or protect local biodiversity.

Previous winners of the grant include Salford Heart Care and Headway.

The ‘Meet the Funder’ morning will run from 11am-12.30pm on Wednesday 19 April  at Eccles Gateway.
