A lorry crash has caused huge delays of up to one hour on M62 westbound near Eccles and Birchwood.
Three out of four lanes currently remain closed for a clean-up operation, after a crash involving a lorry this morning (Tuesday 11 April).
National Highways say the collision, between junction 12 at Eccles and 11 at Birchwood, is causing approximately eight miles of tailback traffic on the westbound carriageway.
Recovery is complete on the #M62 westbound between J12 and J11. 3 lanes (of 4) remain closed for treatment of the road surface due to a spillage caused by the collision.
We’re currently reporting delays in excess of 60 minutes on approach.
The #M62 westbound between J12 (#M60 / #M602) and J11 (#Birchwood), traffic has been temporarily STOPPED due to a collision.
There is currently approx. 3.5 miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 20 minutes above usual journey times.
