Students at a Theatre School in Pendleton are set to appear on a BBC One special alongside hit West-End stars and comedian Jason Manford.

Young people from Pendleton Theatre School took to the AO Arena stage back in February (27 2023) to be recorded live as part of the BBC’s ‘Big Night of Musicals’.

The show is set to air this Saturday (27 March 2023), with the students making an appearance during Jason Manford’s performance.

Joined by the cast of Wicked, Six, The Bodyguard and Shrek The Musical, thousands of fans flocked to the performance funded by the National Lottery.

An Instagram post by Pendleton Theatre School said: “Make sure you are watching BBC ONE on Saturday 25th March (this weekend!) to watch The Big Night of Musicals which features a performance by Jason Manford @jasonmanford joined by Pendleton School of Theatre students recorded live at AO Arena @aoarena (also known as Manchester Arena)!”

The recording is the second edition of the ‘Big Night of Musicals’ show, with 2022 featuring performances by Beverley Knight MBE, The Greatest Showman star Keala Settle, and Olivier Award winner Sam Tutty.

The post continued: “We had such a fantastic few days working with incredible professionals and got to meet the West End and UK Tour casts of so many of our favourite musicals!”
