Monton’s ‘Manchester Bee’ has been temporarily removed from its post for essential repair work after reports of vandalism in the area.
The damaged multi-coloured statue on Stableford Avenue, Monton Green, was removed from its post on Sunday (March 12) after reports of vandalism throughout the area.
The Bee was commissioned as part of ‘The 22 Bee Project’ in 2018, marking the one year anniversary of the Manchester Arena attack.
Local designer Marc Gallander and Monton Girl Guides worked together to create the Monton Bee which has sat guarding the green since.
In a Facebook post, a representative from Monton Village Association said: “Thank you to everyone in our community who has reached out re the senseless destruction and vandalism of our village.
