A former Salford Red Devils player-turned-wrestler has received death threats following a horror injury with fellow wrestler ‘Big E’.
Luke Menzies, known in the WWE as Ridge Holland, came under fire following a move with ‘Big E’ on 11 May 2022.
‘Big E’ (Ettore Ewen) suffered injuries when he landed on his head following a ‘Belly to belly suplex’ from Ridge Holland on an episode of professional wrestling tournament, Smackdown.
‘Big E’ fractured two areas in his neck and upper back, injuries he has not yet recovered from. The decision was made for him to wait a year before getting another check up to see how his recovery was going.
Following the injury, fans of ‘Big E’ have expressed their disappointment with the outcome of the incident, despite Ewen saying he has no problem with Ridge over the incident.
Holland has now tweeted saying: “Death threats.Threats to my family. Lobbying for me to lose my job. Being labeled as a racist. Great stuff, keep ’em coming.”
