Tomorrow is the last day for 11-21’s to cast votes for Salford’s next Young Mayor and to choose the issues in their communities that matter most.

Votes for the Making Your Mark campaign and Youth Mayor close tomorrow (Tuesday 7 March) at 9pm.

This year’s candidates for young mayor are Amber Shaw (disabled activist), David Agyemang (supporting communities), and Becky Stevens (committed to offering young people a voice).

Alongside the votes for the mayor, the Making Your Mark campaign gives voters the opportunity to choose what services are most important for them in the community. This years choices include: mental health, physical health, cost of living support, education, food poverty, safety in public spaces, opportunities for communities, transport, discrimination, and environment.

Young people aged 11-21 are encouraged to take part in the vote.

Last year, Oliver Edwards from Eccles was elected as Youth Mayor and Paaniz Afrang from Ordsall as Deputy Youth Mayor. Improving health and wellbeing was one of Oliver Edward’s campaign priorities along with tackling knife crime while Paaniz Afrang set out to work on reducing child poverty.

You can vote for this year’s Young Mayor via this form.
