A stop and search order is in place in Broughton after a man was hospitalised following a stabbing last night.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing at Oakhill Court, Mandley Park Avenue, at around 5pm on Wednesday February15.
A man aged 39 was treated at the scene for his injuries and taken to hospital where his condition is unknown.
The stop and search order includes the area bounded by Cheetham Hill Road, Bury New Road, Bury Old Road and Upper Park Road. It was due to be reviewed at 5pm today.

Extra officers will be on patrol in the area with an investigation under way.
Insp Steve Corless, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “We have authorised stop-and-search powers in response to a number of serious incidents in recent weeks.
“I would urge members of the public that saw anything suspicious or witnessed the incident to please come forward and report this information to us immediately.
“Your information no matter how small it may seem could be a huge help in our investigation.”
