More than £63,000 has been raised to support Salford-based sports organisation, Foundation 92, as well as other charities in the Greater Manchester region through a charity lunch event.
The lunch, arranged by MCR Matters, was held at Hotel Football last Thursday to support Foundation 92 and The Federation of Jewish Services (The Fed), for both charities work throughout the Greater Manchester community.
Guests listened to a panel headed by BBC Radio Five Live presenter, Nihal Arthanayke, about business in Manchester, challenges facing local communities, and how businesses can engage with local communities to create a stronger future.
Guests speaking at the panel included: Nicky Butt, Salford City CEO; Cllr Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council; Mark Adlestone OBE DL, Chairman of Beaverbrooks the Jewellers; Charlie Norman, CEO of MSV Housing; and Lisa Morton, Founder and Owner of Roland Dransfield PR.

The lunch also featured a raffle and auction for the charities.
