Salford City have launched a new Community Hub at the Peninsular Stadium every Wednesday and Thursday from 3pm-6pm.
The hub offers free hot food and drink for members of the community as well as entertainment and activities.
Salford City’s official charity, Foundation 92, will operate the Hub in line with their ‘Going to the Match’ campaign.
Head of Fan Engagement, Andrew Gordon has been instrumental in putting these plans into place.
He said: “We feel that as a Club our responsibility to the people of our community does not end on the sounding of the referee’s full-time whistle, we have the opportunity and the responsibility to be a place of belonging and support for our fans and community throughout the whole week.
“We were driven to work together with our Club Charity, Foundation 92, to provide a community hub where people can come together, access hot food and drinks if needs be, and spend some quality time in each other’s company.”
Chief Executive Nicky Butt attended the opening this Wednesday along with Manager Neil Wood and some first team players to show their support for the project.
Ammies midfielder Ethan Galbraith said: “It’s absolutley brilliant, this is getting the community in, obviously they pay their hard earned money to watch us on a Saturday so giving back is always good.”
