Backlogs are to be expected after an air ambulance helicopter landed on the M60 between J15 (Worsley) and J16 (Clifton) due to a ‘police incident’ on the clockwise side of the motorway.
National Highways: North-West announced the news via Twitter at 13:17 this afternoon.
The anticlockwise circulation had been shut to allow the helicopter to land but has now been reopened. Severe traffic delays are to be expected.
Traffic has now been released on the #M60 clockwise carriageway between J15 and J16 following the earlier police led incident.
There are delays of 45 minutes on the approach to this incident.

Traffic has just been released on the clockwise side after police and other emergency services attended the scene.
Delays of at least 45 minutes are to be expected on approach to the now cleared incident.
Roads in the surrounding area are expected to be affected.
