Salford Walking Festival

The Salford Walking Festival will take place until the end of October and has been described as “the best way to explore the beautiful City of Salford.”

The festival includes 40 autumn walks, for all abilities: both keen walkers and beginners.

Every Friday throughout October there is a children’s ‘Tiny Tots Ramble’ at Clifton Country Park for a 10:30am start, which takes place along a ‘fairy tale trail’.

For adventurers, ‘Walk on the Wildside’ takes participants deep into the Irwell Valley, walking along old viaducts, lodges and railway lines. These walks tend to go on for four to seven miles.

The ‘Nordic Walking’ is a fitness-focused walk which “turns a walk into a workout”. This takes place every Saturday  09:30-13:00 in the afternoon, as well as a Thursday session running from 10:00-12:30.

In addition to this, the ‘Goblin Walks’ include goblin scientist, Prof. Sigget taking you down Dukes Drive Park in Monton, showing you magic spells and the best trees to find goblins, a great one for families and children.

On the 29th of October in Clifton Country Park there is a ‘Autumn Forest Bathing’ where forest therapy guide, Natalie Rossiter takes you on an “immersive nature connection experience” including meditation and herbal tea.

There is something for everyone at the Salford Walking Festival this month and you can find tickets on the Visit Salford website.
