Seventh plays eighth as Salford hope to build momentum after last weeks Cup loss to Wigan.
The 20-0 loss at the DW stadium was Salford’s fourth loss in five games, piling the pressure on Paul Rowley’s men to get a result in Yorkshire.
The Red Devils had gained momentum from a win over Leeds Rhinos, but failed to capitalise against the Warriors and will need a win to revive their playoff aspirations.
Wakefield, on the other hand, have turned their season around after losing their first four consecutive Super League games. Willie Poching’s men have won their last three games in a row, including back to back wins over Warrington in the league and cup leaving them sitting mid-table.
Salford and Wakefield split their series last season with Wakefield winning at the AJ Bell 12-22 and Salford winning the return fixture 20-28 in Yorkshire.

The Salford defence will need to be aware of Wakefield’s Mason Lino, the Samoan halfback has been Man of the Match in their last two times out and so will be in red hot form when Salford visit Belle Vue stadium.

Likewise Salford’s Ken Sio, who was the Super League top try scorer last season and is in the hunt again this year, having added to his tally against Leeds leaving him joint-top scorer on eight tries.

Salford will be without second row Shane Wright who picked up a long term hamstring injury vs Leeds, while James Greenwood exited the Wigan game early with an injury. However, the Red Devils will hope to have star winger Sio back from concussion and Josh Johnson will be back after returning from a long-term injury vs Wigan last week.
PR: “Greeny’s (James Greenwood) looking at a couple of months out injured now. It’s not good for him or the club.”
