Rangers loanee Stephen Kelly has highlighted the importance of the Salford fans, in the unbeaten run the team are on.
Following their 5-1 victory over Scunthorpe United last Saturday, The Ammies are now eight games unbeaten.
In a pre-match press conference, Kelly said: “Since I’ve joined the fans have been brilliant, even on the long trips down South, they’ve always been there.”
Since crossing the border from Scotland in January, Kelly has made 13 appearances in the league scoring one goal and picking up two assists.
Kelly’s only goal for The Ammies came in last weekend’s 5-1 win against Scunthorpe, he said: “It was probably the best goal I’ve scored in my career so far.”

Salford currently sit eight points behind Swindon Town who occupy the final play-off position, with two games in hand. When asked whether the play-offs are still achievable, Kelly said: “I think we would need a near perfect run from now on in, but of course it’s definitely achievable.”
The match on Saturday against Walsall is a chance for Salford to extend their unbeaten run to nine matches.
Walsall are on an unbeaten run of their own, after drawing 1-1 away at Harrogate Town on Saturday, taking their unbeaten streak 6 matches.
Salford scored five times in a match for the first time in the Football League, last Saturday.
Kelly highlighted the confidence boost this result has given the lads heading into the Walsall match, saying: “When Brandon [Thomas-Asante] and Matt Smith up top are getting goals and assist, it helps them feel good about themselves going into the games, which gives the team a better chance of winning.
“I think just as a collective it gives everybody a boost.”
Joining from Scottish giants Rangers in January, Kelly hasn’t had any problems settling in, he said: “It’s been pretty straight forward, I’ve enjoyed it, all the lads have been brand new.
“It’s been good to come down and see a different city as well.”
