Barbra Keeley, the Labour MP for Worsley and Eccles South, has been appointed as Shadow Minister for Arts and Civil Society.
Keeley has been the MP for Worsley and Eccles South since May 2005 and is a former charity consultant.
The vacancy for Shadow Minister has been open for three months, following Rachael Maskell’s resignation in December. Rachael resigned from the role so she was able vote against laws requiring NHS staff to be vaccinated.
Keeley tweeted saying she is “delighted to be appointed Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Arts and Civil Society”.
I’m delighted to be appointed Labour’s Shadow Minister for the Arts & Civil Society.
Enabling the power of charities, arts and culture to reach everyone is at the heart of Labour’s vision for a more prosperous Britain. I look forward to working with the sectors to achieve this https://t.co/49StEudddQ
