Salford singer songwriter Jace Campbell, 18, has announced his upcoming gigs in Manchester.
There is a lot of musical inspiration to take growing up in Salford. Jace said: “My musical inspirations come from bands such as Oasis, Stone Roses, all the Madchester bands, also some ’60s bands like The Beatles, The Kinks, Rolling Stones and The Who.”
Although he may take inspiration from the Manchester bands, Campbell is very proud to be from Salford. He said: “Salford’s not in Manchester as such because we’ve got our own cathedral, it makes Salford its own city. So, we’re a bit out on our own, so it makes me proud to say I’m from Salford not Manchester.”
The 18-year-old has supported many of the best artists in the business. He also performed at Shiiine On Weekender at Butlin’s in Minehead, where the likes of Peter Hook & the Light, The Coral and The Farm were in the lineup.
Most recently Jace supported 33-year-old, Jonny Brown, the front man of indie rock band Twisted Wheel. Brown has been on tour with the likes of Liam Gallagher. Campbell said: “It’s great to get out of Manchester and Salford performing to a new crowd, it’s a great way to pick up new fans.”
Jace Campbell’s debut single ‘Lost’ which was released in January 2021, has more than 13,000 streams on Spotify. Since then, Jace has released a further two singles ‘History is History’ and ‘You’ve Only Done It for the Love’.
Jace has recently started working with a backing band and he is hoping to get back into the studio. He said: “I’m hoping to be using the backing band live for gigs very soon. I’m hoping to get back in the studio soon and getting some new tunes out, hopefully this year.”
Campbell performed a unique cover of Eminem’s ‘Stan’ which clocked over 500 views on YouTube, which is an example of his recent work.
Jace has plenty of gigs lined up including supporting Manchester ‘rock ‘n’ roll’ band No Vacancies. This event will take place on March 12 at Gullivers in Manchester.
