A man using abusive language towards police officers, who were carrying out another job, has been jailed for over three years.
Dylan Whitehead, 25, caught the attention of some officers by shouting abuse at them. While the officers were talking to him, he asked if he could smoke and a bag of white powder dropped on his foot.
The officers followed Whitehead’s car before stopping and searching both the men and the car and uncovering 120 wraps of cocaine.
Whitehead and the driver of the car, 20-year-old Joseph Minas, were arrested and both pleaded guilty to the offences.
They were sentenced on Monday 13th December at Manchester Crown Court.
Whitehead, of Regent Square, has been jailed for three-and-a-half years for possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine. He was also charged for money laundering.
Accomplice Minas, of Verdun Road, Eccles, was sentenced to 18 months in prison, suspended for two years, ordered to carry out 175 hours of unpaid work and observe a curfew for six months.
Minas admitted to possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance as well as possession of cannabis and ketamine. He also confessed to money laundering, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.
