Help is at hand for new businesses in Salford – over a cup of coffee.
‘Build A Business’ is a new innovative project which is aimed at entrepreneurs with a business idea that they would like to develop. The project is also open to smaller businesses that have been registered at Companies House for fewer than 12 months.
The project is running from Eccles library and others across all eight Greater Manchester authorities, which are offering tailored help and support. A core programme of the workshops will help budding entrepreneurs plan, develop, and grow their business ideas, while the programme will offer the opportunity to network with like-minded people.
One-to-one support can also be provided by local SME Champions, with Salford’s SME Champion being Karen Yates.
Ms Yates commented: “Salford’s networking coffee mornings will be running once a month at Eccles Library. This will give people an opportunity to chat about their business idea, and network with other budding entrepreneurs.
“Build A Business participants will have access to their local library’s business and intellectual property centre (BIPC) where users can access industry-standard business information resources including powerful market research databases. All libraries in the GM scheme have a dedicated BIPC which is open to all, not just those on the project.”
The scheme is part funded by the EU with a grant of £1.3 million from ERDF funding, and is managed by Manchester City Council. The project will run until June 2023.
