The Boundary Stone Pub at Worsley is hosting a Christmas Jumper Day event on the 10-11th of December 12am-11:55pm.
Since 2012 people have worn their jazziest jumpers for one Friday in December and donated money to ‘Save the Children foundation’ to help protect the magic for children around the world. This means that this year is the tenth Christmas Jumper Day.
The child-friendly pub is located on Bridgewater Road, in Ellenbrook Worsley. Based near the East Lancashire Rd and Worsley Park golf club with Manchester City Centre being 9 miles away.
Ian Critchley, General Manager of Boundary Stone says: “we’re basically encouraging our customers to donate to the Save the Children event whilst giving away a few small prizes for best kids jumper which is from 6-7 pm and best and worst adults jumpers after 9.30 pm alongside our live act, Connor Peploe.
He added: “Last week a Christmas fayre was hosted by the Joshua Lancaster foundation that raised £1453.89 for the cause.”
Save the Children said, “Since 2012 Christmas Jumper day has raised over £27 million for our much-needed work to help children stay safe, healthy, and learning both here in the UK and in more than 100 countries around the world.”
For their 10th anniversary on Friday 10th December, Save the children are encouraging the nation to upcycle, borrow or buy a second-hand festive sweater and donate £2 (or £1 for kids).
However, this isn’t the only way people can show their support. Save the Children explained, “This year we’re excited to be working with a variety of incredible brands to provide a range of products, services, and activities – all raising even more funds for the amazing work of Save the Children.”
