For reasons not yet disclosed, Tommy fury has pulled out of his fight against Jake Paul just 12 days before the highly anticipated bout was due to take place on December 18th in Tampa, Florida.
The reason for the Salford boxer’s withdrawal is still unknown, but it is led to be believed Paul’s team were informed late last night of Fury’s decision.
The two had exchanged plenty of heated blows via social media over the past year, before finally going at it face-to-face in a verbal altercation that took place during the aftermath of their last bouts in Cleveland.
Prior to the fight Fury had been full of confidence regarding his match against Paul, recently stating: “If we went into a back room, I’d be coming out and he wouldn’t!”
The American YouTube star Paul has certainly been controversial since his arrival into the boxing world, with many commentators criticising the big money fight due to the pair’s novice records.
Fury was set to be Paul’s biggest test yet, but the Briton insisted victory would give him “no credit in the boxing world”.
The pair were set to face off at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on Saturday the 18th of December.
In a decision which will likely attract a lot of criticism, rumours have circulated Fury may have had to pull out due to illness.

Promoter Frank Warren recently said: “Tommy had a little bit of a cold but hopefully he is going to be okay.
“We are up in Morecambe so hopefully we will know more then, but he is up for it and he wants to fight.
“He can’t wait for the fight and I know certainly from Jake’s perspective he can’t wait for the fight.”
Paul had voiced his concerns Fury would never make it to ring during their press conference, expressing: “Just make sure he shows up.”
He is yet to make a comment since the news of Tommy’s withdrawal broke.
Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley is now set to take the Love Island stars place in a rematch against Paul, as he looks to avenge his split decision loss.
