A local lockdown sandwich business has launched a new mobile sandwich deli at MediaCityUK.
Badabing sandwich deli opens a new ‘Bing-Mobile’ deli at MediaCityUK after starting the business back in Lockdown.
Co-founders Sam Gormally and Meg Lingenfelter have set up the second venue at MediaCityUK, after Peel Media approached them, after they recently began a permanent residency at Ancoats General Stores.
Co-founder, Sam Gormally, said:
“We got approached by somebody who works at Peel Media and they just wanted to get a few more independent businesses down here”.
After binge watching the show in lockdown, the sandwich deli was inspired by the cult TV drama the Sopranos, an Italian American mafia series.
They also spent time working in an Italian/US style deli out in Melbourne, but while on furlough from their jobs as bartenders, the couple set up the business based on New-York Style hoagie sandwiches.

Sam further said:
“We started over the second lockdown, me and my girlfriend we’re just working in a bar at the time, and we were furloughed.
“She’s obsessed with sandwiches… I mean who isn’t and we just went with it from there”.
With locally sourced deli-style meats and cheeses, the sandwiches are served in a silver food truck usually based at Media City’s Piazza.
However, over the past two weeks the truck has been based on the Box on the Docks due to the construction of the Van Gogh exhibition.
The Bing Mobile will be at the MediaCityUK Piazza every Thursday to Sunday from 12-3pm (or when they sell out). To find out more visit their website https://www.badabingmcr.com/.
