A Salford cannabis farm has been discovered by police after a report of blood outside a house in Charlestown.
Greater Manchester Police were called to an address on Blandford Road at around 7:30am when the Salford cannabis farm was discovered and the scene was taped off.
A number of police officers and a large blue tent remained at the scene throughout the remainder of the day, with Electricity North West staff also seen working inside the property.
The police confirmed there were no occupants present at the scene and that enquiries are ongoing.
Residents on Blandford Road claim they are becoming all too familiar with these types of scenes, with one resident describing it as a “street of nightmares”.
“Living on the street is difficult due to the high crime rate and activity that occurs”, they said.
“It really is a street of nightmares. It is a place that isn’t safe, and we never know what the next incident is going to be”.
Residential concern continues to grow following an incident on the road in February, where police arrested a man after a 46-year-old was stabbed multiple times inside a house on the street.
Following the cannabis farm discovery, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said:
“Police were called at 7.30am on Monday 10 May, to a report of blood outside an address on Blandford Road, Salford.
“Officers attended and discovered a cannabis farm inside the property.
“There were no occupants present on police arrival and it has been established no injured person remains there”.
Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to report online, if able, via LiveChat or call 101 quoting 541 of 10/05/2021. Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
