This morning, City Mayor Paul Dennett launched ‘The Salford Way’, a variety of policies aimed ‘at creating a fairer, greener and healthier Salford’.
The scheme is being done in partnership with Crowdfunder, and forms part of the new slate of priorities from the Council:
-The Great Eight – key priorities for the city
–The Inclusive Economy Strategy
-The Tackling Poverty Strategy
–Salford’s new Crowdfunding initiative

Under the new crowdfunding initiative, your crowdfunding campaign will be considered for a contribution of 50% of your crowdfund campaign target (up to a maximum pledge amount of £10,000) providing you meet a series of conditions:
-Be local to the city and benefit people who live or work in Salford
-Reflect at least one of the Council’s ‘Great Eight’ priorities: Tackling poverty and inequality; Education and skills; Health and social care; Economic development; Housing; Transport; A transparent effective organisation and Social impact including Salford’s 10% Better Campaign outcomes
-Must be inclusive and accessible
-If you are from a local community group, charity, voluntary organisation or social enterprise, you will need to provide bank account details and a copy of your governing documents that shows how your group or organisation is run (eg constitution, rules, etc)
-If you are an individual, you will need to provide bank account details and evidence of your identity
-If you are a private sector business, you will need to provide bank account details and evidence of who owns/ governs the business
-Have a bank account and governing document (constitution, set of rules or equivalent) that show how your group/organisation is run
And that’s a wrap, with @salford_mayor encouraging ambitious thinking, thanks to our chair @tomstannard speakers and panel members who have focused on building a strong local future together #TheSalfordWay If you have missed our energising broadcast see https://t.co/qpiHhpLDpn pic.twitter.com/WtieWdzLBf

There are also the caveats that you must first demonstrate ‘strong local support’ by getting to 25% of your crowdfunding target before being considered.
If you receive a pledge from Crowdfund Salford, but the amount does not take you to your crowdfund target, you must continue crowdfunding until you reach your target, in order to receive anything pledged by Crowdfund Salford
