Local Artist, Emma Evans, is auctioning a piece of art this afternoon to raise money for Manchester Mayor’s homeless charity, A Bed Every Night.
Emma Evans is renowned for her uplifting window art covering Salford throughout the pandemic, she is now keen to raise money with her art for homeless people in Greater Manchester.
The week-long online auction will take place on JumbleBee, then the entire proceeds will be donated to A Bed Every Night charity, endorsed and supported by Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham.
If the highest bidder is situated in and around Greater Manchester, Emma Evans will hand deliver the piece herself.
Emma Evans said: “There was no way I could just sell if for me, I want to auction it off and help raise money for all the people that are sleeping rough at the minute, especially because it is so cold, it’s really, really tough.”
The scheme currently supports around 470 rough sleepers, helping them to find long-term accommodation and rehabilitation.
“Just £30 can pay for someone to have a hot evening meal, a safe bed, and someone to talk to at A Bed Every Night, so that they can get off, and stay off, the streets.” A Bed Every Night Spokesperson said.
“A Bed Every Night has been running ever since November 2018,” says Andy. “It has been providing support for people in locations across Greater Manchester.
“Over 2,000 people have been supported by #BedEveryNight so far.”

Emma Evans said: “The canvas was created using acrylics and Posca pens, I used vibrant colours to capture the strength and support of the city, which is why I decided to call the piece ‘We Love Our City'”.
The auction will be live at 5PM Friday February 12, finishing a week later, Friday February 19 2021. If you would like to bid for this piece and help raise money for A Bed Every Night, click here.
