A Lower Broughton resident has won Volunteer of the Year in the Heart Of Salford awards.
Keri Muldoon, who won the award for her help within the community, runs Broughton Flood Group and Green Grosvenor Park.
She said: “I am happy of course with this award as it shows the efforts are noticed and appreciated.”
Ms Muldoon launched the flood action group after her devastating experience with the 2015 Boxing Day floods in Salford.

After volunteering for six years, she said: “It’s taken over my life and now I fight for equality, education, jobs and our own children, giving them role models to aspire to.
“I’m letting people know that there are some really good people in this city of ours and I’m giving them the chance to break the stigma of working class people. I truly feel that’s where the real heart of this city is, in its people.”

On why she volunteers in Salford, she added: “I help because I feel working together brings us a better chance of having a larger voice within the community.”
